Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Colton Charles is a native Idahoan, born and raised in nearby McCall. He earned his undergraduate degree at Oregon State University, then completed dental school at Oregon Health and Science University. Shortly after dental school, Dr. Charles took a position at a children’s clinic where he developed a passion for working with kids. This led him to pursue specialty training in pediatric dentistry at NYU Langone Hospitals Pediatric Dental Residency program. His residency training included working with children with craniofacial clefts, craniofacial anomalies, and children with special health care needs.
Dr. Charles is a board certified pediatric dental specialist who prides himself on a conservative approach. He loves to explain options and to give parents choices in the care their kids receive. Especially since children with clefts and special health care needs often go through a childhood of medical interventions, Dr. Charles places a heavy emphasis on dental prevention to help children avoid further treatment needs. Also very important to Dr. Charles, is to make each dental visit fun, comfortable, and safe so that children can foster a positive attitude about going to the dentist for a lifetime to come.
Dr. Charles enjoys working on the craniofacial team, and the interdisciplinary care required to give patients the best outcome possible. When not working, he spends as much time as possible with his wife and two kids exploring the great outdoors.
